About Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS)

Established in 1990, Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS) is one of New Zealand’s largest private degree-granting institutions.

We provide a wide range of NZQA-approved qualifications, including certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree, graduate diploma, and postgraduate diploma and degree programmes for domestic and international students. AIS offers a variety of courses in business, tourism management, hospitality management, information technology and business administration. Our fast-growing MBA programme is one of the largest in New Zealand, and our English Language Centre offers qualifications in EFL, EAP, IELTS Preparation and Business English.

We are located in Mount Albert in Central Auckland and operate from two attractive campuses. Our St Helens campus is situated in a park-like setting next to Chamberlain Park Golf Course, and was once the St Helens Auckland Maternity Hospital. Our Asquith campus is located a five minute walk away, close to St Lukes shopping centre and with excellent transport links to the city and the central and western suburbs.

The AIS flexible three-semester system and cross-credit recognition allows students to fast-track their studies and to get a head start on their careers. We provide assistance to students on employment issues during and after their studies – this includes assistance with CV preparation and interview skills, job placement and internships. Our Online Visa Office allows international students to process visas on campus.

We ensure that a friendly, nurturing environment balances and supports our rigorous and demanding academic programmes. Students at AIS experience expert personalised education in small classes – our experienced and approachable teaching faculty value personal contact with students.

We give our students, whether from New Zealand or overseas, everything they need to feel comfortable and confident while studying with us. We ensure that they are well-equipped to succeed once they complete their qualifications.

Why Choose Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS)

AIS describes itself as a multicultural family – developing friendships with people from around the world is what makes this institute unique. We have international students from the Pacific, Asia, Europe, America, India and Africa studying at undergraduate to postgraduate level.

To fully utilise your student experience, it is important to make the most of what AIS offers for domestic and international students. The many clubs, social, sporting and cultural events organised by Student Services enables you to mingle with a diverse range of people inside and outside the classroom.

Studying can be both a rewarding and challenging experience. Student Service Officers and AIS tutors are available to share your successes and to give you support if times are tough.

Being an AIS student is a positive experience as our graduates and students will testify. Common feedback is that AIS is an institute with friendly and helpful staff and internationally reputable courses and qualifications.
