This programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills for a career in Information Technology. You will acquire broad vocational knowledge and practical skills, with an understanding of the core concepts in IT. You will develop an awareness of the IT environment and an appreciation of the needs of users. You will develop the skills to work in roles such as computer technician, help desk and technical support officer, entry level network administrator, network engineer, and applications support analyst with a particular focus on technical support.

This programme incorporates the New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology. It is also equivalent to the first year of the Bachelor of Applied IT so if you choose to progress to the degree you will only need to undertake another two years of study.
